GRAPES |
 |
Grapes are one of the
most expensive fruits that could be grown in the
country as proven by Bernie Dizon in his successful
grape venture in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, and in other places all over the
country.
It is also the most obedient plant, the could be
programmed at whatever date you want. So if you want
to have fresh grapes on |

your birthday or any other occasion, prune
the vine of early maturing varieties like the red
cardinal 90 days before your target date. The late
maturing white Malaga or black ribier variety should
be pruned 120 days prior to the date of harvesting.

American viticulturist
concluded that grapes in the tropic grows wild
because tropical countries only have two-season
weathers - dry and wet; unlike in temperate
countries where grapes have a dormancy period during
autumn and winter then grow again during spring thus
harvesting may be done only in summer.
Bernie Dizon however, disproved this claim by
modifying the grape culture technology. The grape
vine would only grow wild if you would let it grow.
Through pinching and regulation of primary vines,
their growth could be limited thus enabling the
plant to bear fruits in a short period of time.
Grapes, which love full sunlight, could be planted 2
by 2 meters apart and could be trained to grow at
whatever trellis you want - in your garage for a
good shade or even at the fence
