LONGAN |
 |
Believed to be an aphrodisiac fruit, this became the
Chinese's favorite. Like
lychee, longan seeds also
produce 70% male that will never bear fruits. In the
Bernie Dizon's hometown in Bongabon, N.E., a
Taiwanese company established a plantation of lychee
and longan with the purpose of exporting the fruits
to Taiwan.
But they found out that Manila is more lucrative
marker for longan and lychee fruits |

|

so what we are buying now are
locally grown imported lychee and longan. The secret is
using growth regulator (cultar) and spraying of flower
inducer (potassium chlorate), which is not locally
available.
