Rootstock Mango for Lahar Areas |

DOUBLE
ROOTSTOCK MANGO FOR LAHAR AREAS.
Researchers of the Ramon Magsaysay Technological
University in San Marcelino, Zambales, have observed
that mango tree with double rootstock grow faster in
areas covered with as much as one meter of lahar.
Photo shows on of such tree, about three years old,
in the mango plantation of the university. The
university is spearheading research on mango
production in Luzon, including the selection of
recommended varieties and the production of grafted
planting materials. The Bureau of Agricultural
Research has been supporting the research activities
at RMTU with research funds. |
