You can actually make your fruit trees low-growing
and highly productive. Just grow them the proper way
by pruning judiciously and giving them the right
nutrition.
How to produce such low-growing fruit trees will be
one of the topics to be discussed by
Bernie Dizon, a
fruit expert who has a techno-demo farm at the
Central Luzon State
University.
He will discuss in full details the ABC of growing
high-value fruit trees both in the backyard as well
as in plantations. These include
durian,
mangosteen, lychee,
duku, longkong lanzones,
Davao pummelo,
ponkan orange and
latexless jackfruit from Malaysia. |

The
topics to be included are propagation, land preparation and
planting, fertilization, pruning, the use of large planting
materials, watering, mulching to minimize loss of water, and
how to induce off-season fruiting |
