Longkong in
Candelaria |
|
 |
This
double-rootstock grafted longkong was planted
less than two years ago but is already eight
feet tall. This is in the farm of Pol Rubia
(right) in San Isidro, Candelaria, Quezon. Rubia,
who is the operations manger of AANI, developed
his property originally planted to coconuts into
a diversified fruit farm. His current money
makers are Sinta papaya and bananas (lakatan and
saba) but in the long run, he expects to make
money from his longkong, durian, rambutan,
mangosteen, lychee and other fruits. With him in
photo is Bernie Dizon who supplied the planting
materials. Dizon will also plant high-value
fruit trees in a newly-acquired farm in San
Isidro. |
