People interested in
high-value fruit trees are invited to attend the
open house and free teach-in on exotic fruits at the
PAWB-Dizon fruit botanic
garden at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Nature
Center along North Avenue in Quezon City.
Bernie Dizon will
give a free lecture and demonstration on the care of
such fruit trees as
durian, rambutan,
longkong,
mangosteen,
Magallanes pummelo,
longan,
lychee,
Guimaras mango,
Millennium mango and others. He will also
discuss fertilization, irrigation and drainage,
pruning, off-season fruiting and propagation.
He will also demonstrate the production of
planting materials with multiple rootstock which are
faster-growing and are said to be more resistant to
typhoons. They are also observed to be more
productive
